She received her B.A. in English from Goucher College, her M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Maryland at College Park, and her Ph.D. in English/Professional Writing and American Literature from Morgan State University. She is an assistant professor of writing at Goucher College.
When Katherine is not writing or teaching, she is mothering two feisty children, burning dinner, or forgetting to water the plants.
